Septic tanks can be tricky to maintain, and it's essential to ensure your system is being cleaned regularly. With our service agreement, you can opt to have one of our certified technicians inspect your septic tank (annually or quarterly, depending on the type of system) to ensure everything is running smoothly. Septic system do's and don'ts 

Do's

  • Clean your septic system regularly. Tanks with filters should have maintenance performed every six months. 
  • Inspect your aeration system every six months.
  • Be conservative with your water use. 
  • Use enzymes in non-aerated systems to help keep the bacteria alive.
  • Use septic-safe toilet paper and laundry detergent.

Dont's 

  • Don't put items such as cooking fats, oils, backwash, or anything that could potentially clog your system down the drain. 
  • Don't build anything within 10 feet of your septic system. 
  • Beware of letting heavy vehicles drive over your system. It could affect soil compaction and reduce your system's ability to process water. 
  • Don't flush trash, baby wipes, hygiene products, etc., down your septic system.
  • Please don't use bleach in your system, as it kills bacteria.
